  KISSING BOO-BOOS By:  Julie Souza Bradley Lilly Oh, the miracle of a kiss on a boo-boo!  I remember being little and getting a cut on my finger.  I’d raise that chubby finger and go running to my mom.  She always knew what to do.  She would gently clean it, put on a bandaid and give it a kiss.  We weren’t done until my hurt had been kissed.  There was magic in that application of compassion and love.  It made the pain go away. We have all seen that toddler with a boo-boo.  They run to their mom or dad to clean it, put on a bandaid and give it a kiss.  If the wound isn’t treated, the tiny nick can continue to hurt and bleed. Each time it is touched or bumped they are reminded of the pain.  And an untreated wound can become infected and grow. There are people all around us with unkissed boo-boos today.  They are hurt, afraid or sad.  They go through life fearful of being hurt again, and looking for someone they can t...

Letting Go!

Good morning, my friend!  Good morning, Father!  Lord, help us to leave yesterday and every bit of its negativity behind us.  Help us to let go of frustration, anger, bitterness, guilt, regret, resentment, exhaustion, disappointment, anxiety and fear.  Help us to forgive and move forward with the mind of Christ, the tools we have been given, the whole armor of God and the imputed righteousness of Christ Jesus.  May we respond like Jesus, who keeps no account of offenses that are covered by His blood. May we walk with the freedom of those who are unencumbered by the carrying of heavy record books of offenses.  Help us to release them, so our hands will be free to grasp our blessings and our arms will be open to wrap tightly around our promised hope and future.  You...

Putting Shadows Behind Us

PUTTING SHADOWS BEHIND US “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” - Lamentations 3:22-23. The sunrise this morning was spectacular.  Every morning the sun announces the new day.  With a yawn and stretch of brilliant color, it rises from its bed behind our back hill, to begin marching its way across the sky toward evening slumber. This morning, what caught my attention, within the comforting faithfulness of this routine, were the shadows.  The oak trees that stand guard between us and the rising sun were silhouetted against a fiery backdrop of sky.  The outline of every branch and twig were perfectly defined. Trailing out from the trees, like the train of a wedding dress, were elongated shadows that draped down the shoulders of the hill.  The shadows were much larger than the trees.  And while there was a similarity between the shadows and the trees which...
