Blind Spots

BLIND SPOTS

“But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression.” – Psalm 19:12-13 NIV

Lord, I just had a lengthy conversation with someone who has a blind spot.  They were adamant that they understood what I was saying, but their response told me they didn’t have the remotest clue.  What I was suggesting was beyond their ability to even imagine.  Father, we all have blind spots.  We can’t even imagine what they might be.  Even when they are pointed out by others, we often have difficulty accepting that what is being said is truth.  Our blindness is truly an inability to see.

Father, I lift my friend before You.  We ask You to lift the scales from their eyes. Heal their blindness and reveal what they are unable to see.  Expand their minds to create a space where they might receive the seed of the mind of Christ in an area that, before now, they never knew even existed.  Help them to have a teachable spirit, and to prefer the faithful wounds of a friend over the kisses of an enemy (Pro 27:6).  As painful as the truth can be, bless them such a great love for Your truth that they will readily accept, embrace and hold tightly as precious, the very truths that deeply wound them and are so painful to hear.  Help their minds to receive these wounds as gifts designed to bless and protect them.

Lord, I pray that their passion to change, when confronted by painful truth, will propel them upward.  May they select humility that lifts them up over pride that precedes a fall (Pro 16:18).  Then, in their eagerness to dispense truth to others, teach them to soften their hearts and to use the same measures of grace, mercy and kindness with the blindspots of others that they would want to have poured out upon them in theirs (Matt 7:2).  Thank You for loving them in spite of their blindspots and weaknesses, Lord, and for Your gentleness and patience as they are being transformed, from glory to glory, into a new creation.  In Jesus Name ❤️

Dear friend, have you been told more than once that you have a blind spot in an area, but you just can’t see it?  Why not bring it before the Father and ask Him to show you if there is something you are missing?  He can remove the blinders and bring growth and freedom that will bless your life and the lives of those around you.  💡
