The Bushel Basket

Good morning, my friend!  Good morning, Father!

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” - Matthew 5:14-16.

Lord, someone very precious to me has an issue with painful muscle spasms.  From across the room, the muscles can be seen contorting under the skin. I thank You, Father, that You use my hands to help. With a touch, the muscles instantly soften. It is completely unrelated to skill.  What I first thought coincidental, is actually You using my hands to bring relief. It is simply Your hand slipping inside of mine, a touch, and the spasms melt like butter.  It is sheer joy to be used by You!

I lift up my friend.  I thank You for the gifts and talents You have given to them.  If there is fear, timidity or pride hindering the intended use of their gifts, remind them that it is not their responsibility to conjure up a miracle or to be perfect.  That is Your role. Their role is simply to obey.  Like a limousine carrying a powerful dignitary, it isn’t the approaching car the crowds are cheering for, but the person inside the car.

Father increase their joy in the knowledge that they carry the King of the Universe within them.  May they give no place for either fear or pride in the use of their gifts.  It is the Sovereign who lives within them who holds the power, makes the decisions and deserves the honor.  Break fear and pride off of them, Lord, so they can flourish in the unburdened use of their gifts, by Your power and inspiration. Help them to dust off these treasures they have been given, and ready themselves to be used.  There is work to be done. Use them to do a mighty work for Your kingdom.  Then, may the obedient use of their gifts bring You glory, be a blessing to others and bring them joy.  In Jesus Name❤️

If this has encouraged you, PLEASE pass it on!
