Safe Passage

Good morning, my friend!  Good morning, Father!

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” - 2 Timothy 1:7.

Father we all experience fear.  Thank you for the protection it provides, when we remember the past and can imagine consequences.  That fear can prevent us from making foolish decisions, and cause us to step back from the edge of life’s cliffs when we get too close.  As with much of life, however, it is a spectrum.  At one end it is protection and a gift, at the other end, when given free reign over our imagination, it becomes a paralyzing tyrant that cripples our future and hope.

Father, I lift my friend.  Your Word says that in this life we will have tribulation, but to not fear, because You are good and have the final say.  In the midst of a fierce storm at sea, with their ship heading for the rocks, help them to not fear, but remember who is in their boat.  Help them to not put their faith in their feelings, butvin Your truth.  You, who hold the universe in Your hand and spoke everything into being, You who have authority over everything that has ever been created, have authority over every living thing, the weather, the seasons, the rocks and the hills - You can speak to their storm and bring supernatural peace.

Father, as the waves surge, turn their eyes from what threatens to drown them, to the One who can surely save them.  Remind them of who You are and what You can do.  Change their fear and, “Oh, no!” at the appearance of the whitecaps and blackened sky, to relief and an, “Oh, yes!”, as they set their eyes on You and remember that You are with them.  Strengthen their faith, for when their faith is greater than their fear, fear no longer holds them in its crushing grip. Rescue them, Lord!  Speak peace to the wind and the waves!  May their fears be kept in submission to Your authority, offering protection, but prevented from crippling their future, dreams and hopeful imagination.  Keep them safe, and give them peace- and faith-filled passage, Lord!  In Jesus Name ❤️
