The Throne of Our Heart

Good morning, my friend!  Good morning, Father!

“A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.” - Luke 6:45

Lord, we only need to catch five minutes of the news to see what our world is full of.  It is so disturbing and sad.  We have come so far from what You intended for mankind.  You remind me, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” - I John 4:7-8. “The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.” - Psalm 29:11 And “Our hope comes from God. May He fill you with joy and peace because of your trust in Him.” - Romans 15:13

All of these things our world is sorely lacking, love, joy, peace and hope, are all gifts that come from You.  But as a people we have gone our own way and have banned Your presence from our schools, our government, our culture and our lives.  Apart from You and devoid of Your gifts, we are left with base instincts of “dog-eat-dog”, “every man for himself” and “do unto others before he does unto you”.  No wonder we are such a mess and the world is in such turmoil.  Without love, hate rises and reigns in our heart.  Without joy, misery is on the throne.  Without peace, we live in anxiety and without hope, we drown in despair.

Father, I lift my friend.  I pray for both of us.  Together, we pray for our world.  Heavenly Father, we repent for having banished You from so many things in our world.  The Earth is a roiling cauldron of hate, violence, selfishness and greed.  The muck from the very bottom has come to the surface.  We see our need and that of our world.  Father, we invite You back in.  Return to our countries, our cities, governments, businesses, schools, churches, homes and lives.  Come into our hearts.  Send Your Holy Spirit to lead us in paths of righteousness instead of destruction.  Return peace to our lives, that the lost would see that we hold something they need - the One True God enthroned on our hearts.  Spirit of God, come in Your fullness, convicting us of sin and convincing us of hope.  Wash us clean, that Your people will be easy to spot, because of the fruit of the Spirit on display.  Evict evil from our hearts and be glorified once again in Your people, that “God Bless America” would not be just an antiquated motto, but the vision, purpose and mission for our lives.  We invite You in, Lord.  Take Your rightful seat on the throne of our hearts!  In Jesus Name ❤️
