Good morning, my friend!  Good morning, Father!

“Your life in Christ makes you strong, and his love comforts you. You have fellowship with the Spirit, and you have kindness and compassion for one another. I urge you, then, to make me completely happy by having the same thoughts, sharing the same love, and being one in soul and mind.” - Philippians 2:1-2 

Lord, as the Body of Christ, whether we are a hand, foot or an eyebrow, we are designed to come together.  A disembodied hand may have been funny on the Addams Family, but in reality, separation from the rest of the Body, is more accurately depicted by a horror movie, because it is unnatural, unhealthy and leads to death. 

Father, draw us into community with the Body and with You.  We are admonished in John 15:4 to remain in the vine, because a branch that has been cut off cannot bear fruit.  Help us to find safe relationships within our community to serve and be served, teach and learn, give and receive.  ”And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,” - Hebrews 10:24.  May we be of one heart and one mind.  Sanctify and cleanse us by the washing of Your Word, that we would be presented to You as a united, glorious church, without spot or wrinkle, holy and blameless. (Eph 5:26-27)

Lord, I lift my friend.  May they find life and health being united with the Body.  Provide a safe community of compassion, love and mercy where they can be vulnerable, receive strength and healing, that they might grow, and become all that You intend for them to be.  I pray they would find joy in fulfilling their role and using the gifts and talents entrusted to them.  I ask that as they are unified with the Body, that the Blood of Jesus would flow to hrough their veins, the breath of the Spirit would fill the lungs and each part of them would live in joyful submission to Christ, the head.  Bless them with a sense of belonging and contentment, Lord.  Whether visible or hidden, their part is important to the health of the Body as a whole. Give them joy in connectedness and in that connection, meet their needs.  In Jesus Name. ❤️

Kissing Boo-Boos

  KISSING BOO-BOOS By:  Julie Souza Bradley Lilly Oh, the miracle of a kiss on a boo-boo!  I remember being little and getting a cut on my finger.  I’d raise that chubby finger and go running to my mom.  She always knew what to do.  She would gently clean it, put on a bandaid and give it a kiss.  We weren’t done until my hurt had been kissed.  There was magic in that application of compassion and love.  It made the pain go away. We have all seen that toddler with a boo-boo.  They run to their mom or dad to clean it, put on a bandaid and give it a kiss.  If the wound isn’t treated, the tiny nick can continue to hurt and bleed. Each time it is touched or bumped they are reminded of the pain.  And an untreated wound can become infected and grow. There are people all around us with unkissed boo-boos today.  They are hurt, afraid or sad.  They go through life fearful of being hurt again, and looking for someone they can t...

 THE SECRET OF THE BIRDS By:  Julie Souza Bradley Lilly “Praise the Lord from the earth, Sea monsters and all deep sea creatures; Beasts and all cattle; Creeping things and winged birds.” - Psalm 148:7, 10.   Morning has broken and the choir of birds outside my window is singing their hearts out.  Birds may not be considered to be intelligent, yet their response to God in hardship could teach us a few things.  We humans grumble to God about so much, but the birds praise their creator in severe heat and bitter cold.  They may have nests and the shade of trees, but they don’t have the many comforts we enjoy, yet they praise Him.  They know a secret:  God is enthroned upon our praises.  When our hearts are full of worship, He takes His rightful place and brings with Him joy and peace.
