A Mist That Leaves A Mark

Good morning, my friend!  Good morning, Father!

“Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” - James 4:14.

Father, only You know the number of our days.  We casually look at our calendars and plan things days, weeks and months ahead, assuming those days have been allotted to us.  We feel comfortable pursuing many different things, because we feel there is time still on the books to do what we have been called to do.  But what if time is shorter than we think?  What if Your return is imminent, or our last breath, on the next horizon?  How would we feel to suddenly be standing before the King of the Universe and have to give an accounting for our time?  Father, I don’t want to be embarrassed by or regretful for

the worthless or foolish things that gnaw away what time I have left.  “Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense.” - Proverbs 12:11. Father, “...teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” - Psalm 90:12

Father, I lift up my friend.  May they seek You early this morning.  May they bring their praise and petitions, and not leave without having the mind of Christ and an understanding as to their mission for the day.  May they use each moment to its fullest, whether in work or in rest.  This evening, when they look over their shoulder, may they see value in their minutes.  Even in the unexpected interruptions, give them a heart that looks for the opportunity to use them for good.  Give them eyes and ears that are sensitive to Your Holy Spirit and a willingness to change the expected timeline to fulfill the deeper mission.  Ecclesiastes says that there is a time and place for everything under Heaven.  May they be right on time and in just the right place to partner with You in miracles.  Life is but a mist, but may their mist leave a mark.  In Jesus Name. ❤️
