My Prayer For You While You Sleep

MY PRAYER FOR YOU WHILE YOU SLEEP

Lord, I lift my friend as they sleep.  As the clock ticks from night to morning, prepare their hearts and minds to choose to not drag the negative refuse of the past into this new day.

Help them to clean out their heart closets (Pro 28:13). We know that holding on to bitterness and hurt causes us to drag around the weight of things that no longer serve a beneficial purpose in our lives. They only hold us back, cause anxiety and stumbling blocks.  And with time, our entire house takes on the decaying smell of what should have been discarded long ago.

Strengthen them to fight the temptation to rifle through the bags of resentment and grief, reexamining the contents, but instead to take out the trash, and there drop the exhausting weight of unforgiveness, fear and failure at the curb.  (Mark 11:25)

As they release it, wash them clean from all iniquity (Ps 51:2) and cleanse away the pungent odor of sin.  Anoint their heads with oil (Ps 23:5b) that they would have fresh peace, carry the fragrance of Christ and go into the day with joy, HOPE and the freedom that comes with a spiritually clean house.

For the challenges of today, bless them with wisdom to guard their hearts (Pro 4:23) from fiery darts of offense and to choose to forgive quickly (Eph 4:26), so the weight of the resentment does not become strapped as an anvil around their neck.

Today, bless them with more of Jesus (Matt 6:11). And I pray that they will walk with you in peace, as they choose the rest and lightness of the unshackled life of forgiveness.  In Jesus’ Name. ❤️

Beloved, life can be so fast-paced as to be exhausting.  But not all exhaustion is physical.  Some can be emotional or physical when we refuse to let go of the past and we are weighed down by the heaviness of bitterness and pain that should have been let go of long ago. Why not lighten your load and hand the hurts, failures and pain to the Lord and ask Him to give you a heart of forgiveness—both toward yourself and others? 💡
