Kissed With Hope

KISSED WITH HOPE

“He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." He said, "Write, for these words of God are faithful and true." - Revelations 21:5

We see it in nature.  Year after year the trees blossom and the flowers bloom and lift their cheerful faces to the sun.  With time, they wither and fade away.  Ecclesiastes reminds us that:

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:” - Ecclesiastes 3:1

If you are like me, there are things in your life that died in this season.  Some things passed abruptly, while others languished away.  Both are distressing and bring with them a measure of grief and sadness.

These hard seasons have a way of glueing our feet to the ground.  We become stuck where we are, and we struggle to move forward to enter the new life of the season ahead.

Do you need help to move forward?

Father, we find ourselves mired in the pain and difficulty of the past.  Even though it is painful, we somehow are afraid to let it go.  Free us from the things that hold us prisoner in this season.  Comfort us so we will be willing to release our grip on what is so deeply painful.

Your Word says that without a vision, the people perish (Pro 29:18). Give us Your vision of hope for our future, that the vision might become a ladder with which we may escape the pit that holds us captive.

We ask for a divine change of season—a leaving behind of the dead of winter to step into a season of freshness, promise and new life.  We ask that our best days would be ahead of us, instead of behind.

Breathe courage into our hearts, that our legs will be strengthened and our hearts will be willing to step out in faith.  Take our hand and show us how.  Lord, we entrust the past season to Your hands, and press forward to Your promise to make all things new.  And as we release our grip on a fading winter, kiss us with hope and a glorious first glimpse of spring.  In Jesus’ Name ❤️
