Hold On!
HOLD ON!
“From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.” - John 6:66
Scores of people saw Jesus in the flesh. They walked and talked with God, eye to eye. They ate of divinely multiplied food and were healed by His touch and the mere power of His words. Imagine that!
Yet even after all they had experienced, there came a day when some turned their backs and walked away. When they received difficult teaching, or were asked to do something that appeared too hard to do, they succumbed to temptation and gave up.
Had they stayed the course, they would have been offered the gift of eternal life, healing and adoption by the Heavenly Father. They would have come to know lifted burdens and all-prevailing hope and joy.
We are living in challenging times. Are YOU being tempted to give up, beloved? Hold on! Don’t miss out on the good that is coming! He hears you. He sees you. Even in the darkness and pain, His Spirit is with you and intercedes for you to the Father. Rescue is on the way.
Lord, my friend is going through a hard season. The winds of adversity are blowing and it can feel like more than they can bear. They are tired and it is tempting to consider letting go. Their heart and their muscles are aching, and the voice of the enemy whispers that blissful relief would come, if they would simply let go.
Father, rescue them! Wrap Your arms around them! Strengthen their grip. See them through the storm. Speak words of comfort to give them strength.
Open their ears to hear the great cloud of witnesses, that even now, cheer them on to victory (Heb 12:1). Give them a glimpse of Your kingdom —a reminder of what lies ahead if they JUST. HOLD. ON.
Lord, I pray they will be found faithful to the end, receive the victor’s crown and know the joy of hearing You say,
“Well done, good and faithful servant;...Enter into the joy of your lord.” - Matthew 25:21.
Father, hold on to them, and strengthen them to keep holding on to You! In Jesus’ Name ❤️
