Let It Fall

 LET IT FALL

By:  Julie Souza Bradley Lilly

Autumn is the time of year when the trees release their leaves to the hands of the Lord. Much like us, letting go of works, dying away of old ways, releasing of offenses and forgiving of debt are glorious worship to our magnificent God—a beautifully befitting reflection of His will that was offered in surrender on another tree.

There may be a measure of pain in the releasing, Beloved, but our limbs cannot bear the weight of both the past and what is yet to come without breaking under the load.  Let’s capture the wisdom on display in all creation:

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” – 1 Peter‬ ‭5:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Let’s avail ourselves of the burden that is light.  Let’s free our branches of needless worry; let’s release the ensnaring weights of bitterness and pride and the suffocating burden of ought. Let’s allow it to all fall away, so the fresh blessing of the spring to come might be met with an unencumbered embrace.

Lord, help us to release our leaves before You. Be honored in our vibrant sacrifice of worship.  May each fluttering leaf lift its voice in honor to Your name—each color and hue a harmonized voice to Your perfect will.  Together may Heaven and nature sing.

Lord of every season, be glorified in our surrender.  May it escort in a season of rest, blanketed in the hushed stillness of peace and the hope of yet another spring.   In Jesus’ Name ❤️
