A Prayer For The Overwhelmed

A PRAYER FOR THE OVERWHELMED

By:  Julie Souza Bradley Lilly

Are you feeling overwhelmed, Beloved?  I was feeling overwhelmed and somewhat lonely when I came before the Lord this morning.  The Father in His great kindness comforted me as I came before Him.  He bids you to come, too.  Will you go with me before Him?

Father, thank You that You are always awake.  You keep watch in us every hour.  We come wearing the robe of Christ’s righteousness, entering Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise.  We are drawn by the aroma of Your mercy, like fresh baked bread that greets our souls.

Thank You for a new day!  You stretch “the northern sky over empty space and hangs the earth on nothing... The foundations of heaven tremble;” (Job 26) Lord, it is so humbling to remember to whom we lift our prayers to each morning —Almighty God!

“The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD” - Psalm 97:5.

There is none like You.  Our problems feel massive, but even Your presence causes them to wither.

Father, give us a revelation of Your magnificence and might.  Remind us of the enormity of what You have accomplished, and then show us the size of their struggles.  Increase our faith in Your goodness.  Expand our ability to believe You for the impossible.  Renew our minds until the miraculous appears not only possible, but logical, even inevitable.

Lord, we invite You into our struggles and loneliness.  Give us eyes to see as every hurt, anxiety and pain melt like wax before You.  You are all powerful and cower from NOTHING.  Your fearlessness is contagious, and we catch it in Your presence.  Breathe courage into our lungs.

Holy Spirit, come.  Surround us in our loneliness.  Father, perfect Your strength in our weakness (2 Cor 12:9).  We offer to You our day, our joys, struggles and pain.  Be with us.  Live in us and work through us, to do what only You can do.  For with You all things are possible.  In Jesus’ Name ❤️
